"Learn to Entertain With Super Magic," a catalog of magic supplies and equipment by Sherms, Inc., 1929. The 96-page artifact has an image on the front cover of the devil, in red, standing behind a black bordered box. Within the box is the title, partially in black and partially in red letters, with the company name and place of business at the bottom. The back cover has a drawing of the company's "Master Pack of Cards," showing the box and its front cover with a devilish magician and the product title. On the inside front cover is an advertisement for the "Master Magic" assortment of tricks and including a photograph of the item. The first page is a message from company founder Bob Sherman. This is followed by terms and conditions of sale, before the catalog starts on page three. The catalog is in sections, including card tricks; coin tricks; silk [handkerchief] tricks; escape tricks; pocket tricks; miscellaneous tricks; stage tricks; and illusions. At the back are statements about the quality of the company's products and, on the inside front cover, an advertisement for three puzzles and games. In fair condition, the object's pages are in good condition, but the front cover is nearly separated and there is much discoloration, many creases and some fairly heavy surface soiling to the covers, so the catalog is in fair condition overall.Lexicon
