Description

LETTER FROM DAVID A. WORKMAN TO EDMUND P. TEMPLE, 28 DECEMBER 1972 Color: Black; White A letter by David A. Workman to Edmund P. Temple, 28 December 1972. Typed on Workman's business letterhead, the item informs Temple of a family meeting held on the 17th concerning an attempt to plan a claim by the Temple and Workman families for compensation for a claim to San Clemente Island, granted by Pio Pico to his brother Andres and to William Workman in 1846. Workman stated that a desire to pursue a private bill through Congress was agreed upon, as was his suggestion that he receive a 1/5 share in any compensation, potentially divided if his brothers agreed to join the matter. The letter was signed by Workman, coutesy copies given to Temple's siblings, Robert and Edith, and a handwritten greeting to Temple's brother, Robert, and sister-in-law Dorothy, also expressed. With only slight surface soiling and third folds, the document is in good condition.
