Description

A letter from Andrew S. Lee in Venice, California to Edwin G. Hart in Los Angeles, California. 16 November 1913. A written letter on letter head from Hotel St. Mark. In the letter Andrew S. Lee would like to know the terms on 5 acres planted to avocados in North Whittier Heights. He would also like to know the payments etc. Mr. Lee closes the letter saying he would like 5 acres if it can be arranged. Glued to the front of the letter, in the upper left corner, is a newspaper clipping advertising North Whittier Heights. The letter head, in the top left corner, has an outline of a shield and a Griffin on top of a column on the inside. To the right gives the name and information of the hotel. It reads "Hotel St. Mark / 150 rooms - 100 with baths / supplied with / hot and cold, fresh and salt water / steam heat, elevator / Andrew S. Lee. Proprietor." There are heavy creases from the letter being folded, silverfish damage in the bottom right corner, fold in the bottom left corner, acid burn in the top left corner from the newspaper clipping, and the back has abrasion damage along the folds and an unknown substance (possibly glue) at the top of the letter. This object is in fair condition overall.
