Description

Color: Brown; Gold "Lighting Fixture Catalog No. 28," issued by the Co-Op Electric Supply Company, 1928. The paper cover of the 44-page document has a brown textured, leather-like appearance with a gold border in which is a panel containing the title, company name and addresses at its offices in Chicago and New York. On the back center is the company logo consisting of a young boy with an engineer's cap reading "CO-OP" on the front. Pasted on the first page is an offer of a "Dealers Confidential Discount" of 50% and 2% for cash from prices in the catalog (with some exceptions). General information is on the first page including replacement of damaged goods, delivery specifications and a quality guarantee. Product offerings follow, beginning with crystal fixtures, then cast bronze; strap iron and cast iron; "Spanish" antique strap; Colonial-style; Ornate brass; offerings from the Toledo Lighting Equipment Company; the Bronzola line; cast aluminite; fixtures for the living room, dining room, bedroom, and bathroom; bowl and pan fixtures; ceiling units and wall sconces; porcelain and vitrified pottery fixtures; copper and iron interior and exterior fixtures; church units; exit, garage and service station brackets and house number lanterns; commercial fixtures; and floor and table lamps. Model numbers, dimensions and brief descriptions accompany listings, most of which also have drawings, some color, to show appearance. Some pages have stains, soiling, creases, a few small stains and a tear at the top edge of the cover, so the object is in fair condition.
