A page from the Mercantile Agency "Reference Book" with a listing of Alhambra, California manufacturers and retailers, published by R. G. Dun & Co., 1926. The page, which is numbers 109-110 of the book, has the abreviation "Alh" at the top left corner and "Ana--CALIFORNIA" at the top right. The list at the bottom has five columns, and five more on the back, with the first column on the front continuing with the Alhambra listings which began on page 108, item .1 in the collection. Also listed are merchants in Alameda County and cities such as Anaheim, Altadena, Arroyo Grande, and Atascadero. Listings for the city of Avalon begin on the bottom of column five of the back. Businesses listed are in alphabetical order and include rating symbols for pecuniary strength, and general credit, as well as trade symbols. A copy of the book's title page and symbol reference are also in the collection and are items .3-.4. The artifact is in overall good condtion and has light creases, a fold across the center, and small tears along the edges.Lexicon
