Journal: "Little Journeys", January 1901, Vol. VIII, No. 1 (a) with remittance card (b). A dark brown paper cover with black text consisting of the title, issue and date, author's name, and single copy and annual price on the cover within a black bordered square and with the logo of The Roycrofters in red ink. Written by Elbert Hubbard and published by The Roycrofters. The first of the monthly series for 1901 on great musicians, this featuring Richard Wagner. There is a pencil or charcoal sketch of Wagner and line drawings of stylized flowers throughout. The remittance card is in red ink and notes payment for the American Academy of Immortals, for which the "Little Journeys" journal and "Philistine" magazine were to be sent. The journal is in fair condition with cover edge wear, cover creases, and page edge discoloration and the card is in good condition with some discoloration. NoneLexicon
