Description

LONG BEACH FLOAT AT THE PASADENA TOURNAMENT OF ROSES PARADE, 1920s Color: Black; White A float entered by the city of Long Beach at the Tournament of Roses Parade, Pasadena, California, 1920s. The image shows the float on a street in front of a one-story commercial building. The float has the name of the city toward the back of the side facing the photographer. The plant material appears more dark green like shrubs or bushes rather than flowers. A young woman sits in a floral canopy toward the back with several other women at the side and one seated on a chair at the front. To the right is the building with the sidewalk crowded with spectators. There are some persons on the roof viewing the festivities. American and other flags hang over the street at the top. On the back is the brand name "VELOX" preprinted onto the paper, while the number "101" is stamped twice in blue ink. With some mounting adhesive residue on the back corners, small creases at the bottom right corner, and slight yellowing, the overall condition is good. Number-Units: 1
