LOS ANGELES CITY HALL DEDICATION PROGRAM, APRIL 29, 1928 Color: Black; Gold; White A dedication program for Los Angeles City Hall, April 29, 1928. The front cover has an image of the structure and the city logo is in gold beneath that. A gold fabric rope serves as the binding agent. The item contains the listing of events from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, to a public inspection day the following day, to a historical pageant by thge Native Sons and Daughters of the Golden West and a passing of the flags on Saturday evening. A celebratory essay "In Dedication!" is followed by another essay on previous city halls and photos of these structures are on the next page. A biographical sketch of Mayor George E. Cryer, with a photo, is followed by a series of photos of the new municipal building. Photos of the Board of Public Works, which oversaw the project, and of the members of the City Council are next. Information and facts about the city hall follow. Other material concerns a listing of mayors, population data for the city, members of the Citizens' City Hall Dedication Committee, including Mary Julia Workman for "Women's Transportation." With edge and corner rubbing; adhesive residue from tape at the top center of the front; cover creases; dented corners; cover soiling; darkening of the gold seal and pages; a slightly loose binding; cover stains; and some small tears at the back, the condition is fair.
