Description

LOS ANGELES COUNTY COURT HOUSE AND HALL OF RECORDS, CA. 1910 Color: Black; Green; Red; White A colored photo postcard of the Los Angeles County Courthouse and Hall of Records, Los Angeles, ca. 1910. The view shows the courthouse at the left, a red sandstone brick structre with a central campanile clock tower, two wings flanking it and a section in the rear. In front are wide walkways, a statue on a pedestal and a lawn with some trees. The words "COUNTY COURT HOUSE" are displayed on the grass near the sidewalk. The Hall of Records is to the right and has a red multi-gabled roof. Portions of streets, other buildings, streetcars, automobiles, and pedestrians are visible around the two structures. At the distance to the left are some outlying areas of the city. At the top right is the caption "5277. Los Angeles County Court House and Hall of Records." At the bottom right is a copyright symbol and the name "Wm Graham." The reverse of the unused card has space on the left for a message and on the right for an address, separated by the publisher's name and place of business. A box for locating the stamp is at the upper right. With a crease vertically along the center, much surface soiling, some stains, and dented corners, the artifact is in fair condition.
