A cancelled bond coupon for the Los Angeles Gas Company, 31 May 1878. The item has a face value of forty dollars and is coupon number three, bond number seven, of a series. The certificate-style design has the company name, city, and coupon number at the top, the face value at the center in a dark field, the interest due date of 1 June 1878, the bond number, and an official's signature at the bottom, along with the preprinted name of the Anglo Californian Bank, Limited. Over most of the coupon is a cancellation stamp from that bank, dated 31 May 1878. Identical coupons, numbered six and eight through ten, are items 1.1 and 1.3 through 1.5 in this accession.
