Color: Black; White
A reproduction photograph of a stereoview titled "Public School, Los Angelos [sic], California," and specifically of the high school, ca. 1880s. The image appears to be taken from the roof of a nearby bulding or a hilltop or hillside. It seems the image looks south, because of the density of buildings in the background to the left. The high school is a two-story wooden structure with a central bell and clock tower. At one corner is an entrance and staircase and there are many sets of double-hung sash windows on the bulding's sites. On the perimeter of the lot are trees in planters, but the landscape is rather barren. In the foreground is a street and the roof of a building. Some trees and a picket fence are on the photographer's side of that thoroughfare. As a newly printed image, the artifact is in mint condition.
