Description

Color: Silver A Los Angeles letter opener, ca. 1910. The artifact has a pierced end with the shape of a mission bell. Below this appears to be a bunch of oranges among tree leaves. Further down the handle is the name Los Angeles with the letters unevenly spaced and arranged, some letters overlapping others. Then the instrument becomes a smooth, unornamented blade with a tip at the end. Stamped onto the back at the lower end of the handle are three logos, possibly for unions and the name "BRONZE" denoting the material. The tip is bent, there is soiling on the handle, scratches near and at the tip, stains near the tip, and much tarnish throughout, but the overall condition is good.
