Description

Los Angeles Police Department mounted police officers with their horses on a street, 1926. The image shows some two-dozen uniformed men holding the bridles of their horses on a wide street with streetcar tracks in a hilly area of the city. Apartment buildings lines the street on both sides. The photography studio's name is at the left, an identification number at the right and an ink inscription of the year at the top. On the reverse is "LAPD." With dog-eared corners, light soiling, and some edge rubbing, as well as album paper residue on the reverse, the overall condition is good.
