Description
LOS ANGELES RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD FROM APARTMENT ROOFTOP
Color: Black; White
A photograph of a residential area of Los Angeles, November 1919. The image is taken from an apartment rooftop and looks onto an area of one and two-story houses, amidst which are trees, such as palms. In the background are larger buildings suggesting that the view might be taken near downtown. In the foreground are some power poles and lines next to the apartment building. It would appear that a parapet or similar feature is at the foreground lower right along with the shadow of a person. At the bottom margin is the penciled date "Nov 1919." On the reverse are two inscriptions identifying the location and date. With photo album paper residue on the reverse, slight fading to the image, and some stains on the left side of the image and the reverse, the overall condition is good.
