A photograph titled "Los Angeles So[uth] from Court House," by Frank L. Park, 1900. The image, taken from an upper level of the municipal building takes in a view looking to the southeast. In the foreground is a several story building, the Bullard Block, which replaced the old courthouse or Market House of Jonathan Temple. At the bottom left corner is a small portion of the first section of the Temple Block. Other downtown buildings and some outlying residential and farm areas to the south and east are notable. What appears to be the Los Angeles River is at the top of the image. At the bottom left is the caption "285. LOS ANGELES SO. FROM COURT HOUSE" and, at the bottom right, is the name of the photographer. The back has Park's stamp with his name, title of "Landscape Photographer" and his address. A pencil inscription, possibly the number "3" is written over part of the stamp and there is a penciled letter "A" at the upper right corner. With corner rubbing, creases at the top right corner, and soiling and discoloration on the back, the condition is good.
