Description

"Los Angeles Traffic Ordinances, 1919," courtesy of Puente Oil Company, Los Angeles. The text ordinance 29,826 passed in 1914 and amended through late September 1918 is given and there is also a section of "don'ts" in the centerfold, an index, and, pasted down on the inside front cover, a list of Puente Oil gas stations. Puente Oil was formed by William Lacy and William Rowland in 1884 after the discovery of oil on Rowland's Rancho La Puente holdings on the north side of the Puente Hills in present Rowland Heights. With some creases, perhaps from liquids, but little noticeable wear elsewhere, the condition is good.
