"Los Angeles: What to See and How to See It," a pamphlet issued by the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, 1923. The item has a front panel with the title in a banner at the top, and the publisher's name at the bottom. At the center is a collage of photographs showing a female hiker next to a tree and "overlooking" the mountains, a plain of agricultural fields, and a palm-tree lined residential street. The back panel continues the image with the title at the top and the chamber name at the bottom and center collage images of a steamship approaching a crowded gangplank, and a beach scene with bathers and buildings along the shoreline. When fully opened, the item has six other panels, featuring information on Los Angeles and its roads; street cars; interurban trips; trolley and auto tours; outing ideas; country clubs; other attractions; social clubs; hotels and apartments; railroads and depots; and facts and figures. There are five photographs of local attractions and a woman with a bunch of flowers. With some corner abrasions, creased corners, slight yellowing, and a small tear along a fold, the item is in good condition.Lexicon
