Color: Black; Orange; White
A stereoview titled "Los Angelos [sic] from 3d St. Hill," 1880s. The image is taken from atop the hill, probably where 3rd Street and Grand intersect now. 3rd Street runs to the left away from the photographer, while Hill, Broadway, Spring, and Main streets cross the image from foreground to background. Along the streets are mainly residences with fences and landscaping, although there appear to be some business buildings near Main and Spring streets. The Los Angeles River may be in the distance although it is less clear in the background. At the lower right is the caption with the ID number "10850." At the left margin is the phrase "American Views" and at the right "Southern California." On the reverse are several logos of expositions and fairs and the name of the publisher and the company's address. With rubbing at the edges and corners, light corner creases at the top, bottom corners slightly dented, soiling throughout, slight fading of the image, and stains on both sides, the condition is good overall.
