Description

LOWER PORTION OF PLASTER GNOME FOR LA CASA NUEVA'S WEST LAWN Color: Brown A color polaroid photograph of the lower portion of a plaster gnome recreated for the La Casa Nueva West Lawn, ca. 1979. Seen from the front, the piece is in gold and blue, including a shirt or tunic; a cup held in the left hand and the stockings and boots. The figure is sitting on something, perhaps a tree trunk. The figure was out at the north end of the lawn area when the Temples lived on the site and this was recreated to be put in the lawn. After a short time, however, exposure and the consequent damage necessitated its removal and the figure is now in the Workman House. Because the area around the figure is completely black, there are no other identifying features to the artifact, which is in good condition with little indication of wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
