Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the Lugo family in front of a home, ca. 1890s. The family is featured across the center of the image with seventeen people pictured in one of two rows. Four men are in the back row, with one man on each of the far ends, accompanied by five women; a baby in a carriage is on the far right next to one of the men. Five children are seen sitting in the front row on a long wooden bench; an older woman sits between the children in the center and a man with a beard on the far right. All the people pictured wear period and traditional Mexican clothing. In the background can be seen part of a building with a wood-paneled door in the center which has a frame and peaked cornice on the top. To the right and far left of the door are two plain posts; behind the post on the far left is an ascending stairway. The family was photographed in their home located in what is now Bell Gardens. There are two photographs, with the same number, and a corresponding negative in 99.6.10.226, and the image is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
