LUIS FATJO IN A GENOA, ITALY HOTEL BEDROOM DURING HONEYMOON

A black and white photograph of Luis Fatjo in a Genoa, Italy hotel room, ca. 1930. Fatjo sits on a lounge sofa at the center and wears a three-piece suit, tie, and eye-glasses. He has his hands clasped at his lap and smiles at the camera. The shadow of Agnes Temple is on the bottom right. The bed is behind Fatjo with the comforter, sheets, pillows, and other articles scattered about the surface. To the left of this is a night table with a lamp and other objects. Two wallpaper-covered walls are in the background and a door with an article of clothing hanging from its hook is on the right. Written in Temple's hand on the back is, "taken in the room in / Genoa. Received Feb. 10/30." The photograph was taken during Temple's honeymoon and was housed in her album, which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs, which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With water damage, stains, and some smearing of the ink at the back, the object is in poor condition.
