Description

Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of Agnes Temple's dog, Mackie Boy, ca. 1930s. The terrier stands at the center on a dirt path and has its head turned to the left. It has white fur except around the eyes, at the ears, and the back of the neck where it is darker. Around it's neck is a collar which is attached to a leash. The leash is held in both hands of the woman who stands at the center of the back. The woman's head is out of view though she could be Temple. She wears gloves, a long coat which has zig-zag designs, a scarf, hose, and heels. At the far left is a lawn. Across the back are several two-story homes with pitched roofs and a row of utility posts. Stamped at the top right corner of the back is the number, "572." The photograph was housed in Agnes Temple's album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With stains at the bottom and the right, and some surface soiling on the back, the artifact is in fair condition overall. Number-Units: 1
