Description

MAGAZINE AD FOR GMC TRUCKS WITH PHOTO OF PUENTE UNION HIGH SCHOOL, 1923 Color: Black; White An advertisement from "The American City" magazine's January 1923 issue for GMC trucks. At the top is the periodical name, below which is "GENERAL MOTORS TRUCKS" and the company logo. At the center is a black and white photographic image of a GMC bus parked in front of the administration building of Puente Union High School with the caption "One of Fleet of Four G. M. C. Busses Used by Schools of Puente, California." A description of how the company's products were selected to supply buses for Puente schools is given with the title "G M C Wins Place in Competition." At the bottom is the company name, location, a note that there were dealers and service in most communities, and a request by the magazine to mention the periodical when writing to advertisers. On the reverse is a page from an unrelated article on the automatic regulation of traffic on street corners and an improved tractor. Other than slight yellowing of the paper edges, the artifact is in good condition.
