Color: Brown; Red; White
A color photograph of La Casa Nueva's Main Hall, ca. 1981. A polar bear rug is on the wood floor at the center of the room and faces the camera. To the left of this is part of a couch, the wood doors to the Dining Room, and a grandfather clock which is flanked by two chairs. At the right is a painting of William Workman which is flanked by two lighting fixtures hinging from gold brackets that are along the top of both sides of the room. Below the painting is a marble-top table which has many elaborate carvings at the bottom. At the center of the back is an arched glass door to the courtyard through which part of the fountain, trees, and the Mission Walkway are visible. On the wall to the left of the door arch is a lighting fixture and below this is a wood cabinet. A taller wood cabinet is to the right against the side of the tile-lined stairs. The stairs have a wood handrail and iron railing, a landing at the top center, and continue up to the far left. A stained glass triptych window is at the top of the center and is partly blocked by a round chandelier which is at the top of the foreground. The window shows a fictional early California scene with many people on the right at a harbor awaiting ships which are at the left. At the top right corner is a label with the number, "5." With only light abrasions at the corners, the image is in good condition.
