Description

Color: Black; White A real photo postcard of Main Street, looking east, in Alhambra, California, ca. 1910s. The image is taken from the north side of the street near the intersection with Garfield Ave. and shows the unpaved road with streetcar tracks down the center. At right are several business buildings, some with signs indicating tenants. At the left only a small portion of a building or two is noticeable. On both sides of the street are wood power poles. In the background are trees by the side of the road, probably in residential areas, and there is a hill or mountain in the distance. At the bottom left in a white box is the caption "Main Street, Alhambra, Ca. (Looking East.) The unused card has, on the reverse, space at the left for a message and at the right for the address. At the top is the logo of the manufacturer "Woods," and the word "POST CARD" is at the top center, while the space for a stamp is at the upper right. With creases, surface soiling, and dented corners, the overall condition is fair.
