Description

Color: Color Postcard of Alhambra looking west on Main Street, 1920. The street runs from the center of the foreground back and to the left. Two streetcar tracks run the entire length of the street. Several automobiles, including a bus, are also on the street travelling east and west. Other automobiles are parked, perpendicular to the curb, in front of the many buildings and businesses. Many of these have awnings over their doors and windows. Some business signs, such as that of the Alhambra Music House and the Piggly Wiggly market, both at the left, are discernible. In the background are many trees, buildings, and hills. The title of the postcard is at the bottom left in black lettering. Down the center of the back is the name of the manufacturer, C. T. American Art. To the left of this is a blank area for correspondence, and at the right are four blank lines for a name and address. All of the printing on the back is in blue. In good condition, the artifact has only some light abrasions at the corners, small creases, and very light soiling.
