Description

MAN FEEDING ANIMALS AT THE LOS ANGELES OSTRICH FARM Color: Black; White A photograph of a man feeding ostriches at the Ostrich Farm, Los Angeles, 21 February 1928. The image is taken from just outside the pen and shows the man, with his back to the camera and wearing a dark suit, feeding what appears to be a piece of fruit to an animal, while several other ostriches are nearby in the pen, which appears to have wood posts and metal rails. In the background are some densely gathered trees and other pens. On the reverse in pen is the inscription "Los Angeles California / Ostrich Farm, Feb. 21, 1928." There is also a stamped number 38 and the words "VELOX" stamped throughout the paper. With residue from a photo album at the reverse top, some fairly severe acid burns on the bottom and right edge of the front; creases at corners, and stains, the condition is fair. Number-Units: 1
