Description
"Maps and Surveys of the Pueblo Lands of Los Angeles," Neal Harlow (Los Angeles: Dawson's Book Shop,) 1976. This limited edition publication contains an essay on historic maps of the pueblo from its 1781 founding through the 1860s, as well as reproductions of maps, two of which are tipped into a paper strip at the rear inside cover and some of which are fold-outs. Appendices include a transcription of a 1871 affidavit by county surveyor George Hansen about existing official maps, and a list of ninety city maps through 1883. There are also footnotes, a list of cited sources, and an index. The boards have minor bumping and the pages are clean and tight, so the condition is good.
