Description

Color: Black; Red; White A box for a bottle, of Mar-O-Oil shampoo, manufactured by Marrows, Inc., Chicago, 1928. The item has red panels, all of which have a silhouette image of the bottle shape and the product name. Three of the panels are identical otherwise, containing the phrase "A Combination of Oils / We Recommend For / Normal, Dry or Oily Hair," an image of a female ballet dancer, the size of the contents (six ounces) and the manufacturer's name and copyright date of 1928. The fourth panel differs from the others in that it has a white panel with directions for regular use and for a hot oil treatment. The manufacturer's name and location are at the bottom of this label. The top lid of the box is missing and there are abrasions; brittleness, especially the cardboard liner inside; creases; soiling; losses of the top in addition to the lid; ink marks on one panel; tears; and general wear, so that the overall condition is poor.
