Description

Color: Black; Red; White A box for a bottle of Mar-O-Oil shampoo, manufactured by Marrows, Inc., Chicago, 1928. The item has red panels, all of which have a silhouette image of the bottle shape and the product name. Three of the panels are identical otherwise, containing the phrase "A Combination of Oils / We Recommend For / Normal, Dry or Oily Hair," an image of a female ballet dancer, the size of the contents (two ounces) and the manufacturer's name and copyright date of 1928. The fourth panel differs from the others in that it has a white panel with directions for regular use and for a hot oil treatment. The manufacturer's name and location are at the bottom of this label. With corner and edge abrasions; creases; a crushed box top; light soiling, discoloration on the bottom from some liquid; and overall wear, the overall condition is fair.
