MARCHING BAND MARCH AT A FOOTBALL GAME INVOLVING U. S. C.
Color: Black; White
A photograph of a marching band marching in formation on a football field, ca. 1928. The image is taken from the stands and shows five military cadets at the head of the group, followed by twelve rows of band members. A color guard is behind the band, but is unclear whether they had proceeded the band in the march or were following behind them. Yard lines are marked out on the grass, as are angled lines for the end zone. A goal post is at the back of the end zone. Some spectators are in the foreground near the photographer, while in the distance across the field are more spectators, as well as a portion of the top of the stadium at the upper right. There is also a tunnel area near the center, on which is a banner that partially reads "U. S. C. Exit," hence the identification of the photo. It is unclear, however, if the game was in Los Angeles or elsewhere. On the upper center of the reverse is the penciled number "4." In good condition overall, the item has minor surface soiling on the reverse, bowing of the paper, and dented corners.
