Photograph, Reproduction: A reproduction photograph of Maria Antonia Dominguez Davoust, ca. 1870. The oval shaped photograph, reproduced onto square paper, shows Mrs. Davoust standing next to a chair in three-quarter view with her hands folded over one another and resting on the back of a chair. She wears a dark colored dress, with her shoulders bared and a necklace and cross pendant. A belt buckle is seen, as well. Her hair is pulled back and parted at the center in the fashion of the time. Mrs. Davoust was the wife of Louis Adrien Davoust (see photo 94.30.1) and mother of Anita Davoust Temple, who married John Harrison Temple (son of F. P. F. Temple and A. M. W. Temple.) The photo was donated by Donald Woods, a great-grandson of the Davousts. In good condition with some ink smearing or stains at lower portion. Biographical information is written in black ink by Paulette Woods, wife of Donald Woods.
