MARTIN WEIL GIVING A TOAST AT A PRESERVATION COMMUNITY FUNCTION, WEST LAWN OF LA CASA NUEVA
Color: Green; Yellow
A color photograph of preservation architect Martin Eli Weil offering a toast at a historic preservation community luncheon, La Casa Nueva west lawn, May 1981. Taken from the south side of the lawn, the view shows persons at two long, rectangular tables in the center; Weil and others at another similar table at right and a small part of a fourth table at the left. In the foreground left is part of a restored circular planter, a full example of which is at the right near Weil. In the background, is some of the landscaping, including a small palm tree at center, a tree, since removed, at the left in the lawn, and the grapes in the arbor behind the others. Other trees are in the far background, including pomegranates. On the reverse upper edge in blue ink by a former museum curator is the inscription "Martin Weil giving a toast." The red date and photo process tamp is just below center. With no indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
