A color postcard of the Mary Louise Tea Room in Los Angeles, postdated July 29, 1921. The room has white wood paneling on the walls and a red carpet with a blue square pattern. At the center of the room is a purple ottoman and a tall white vase with pink flowers. At the left are a china cabinet, tall vase, mirror, lamp, and a blue couch. At the right are an all glass case within which are many figurines, a lamp, and a purple chair. Across the back from left to right are French doors, a wicker table, draped window, and a tea cart. In red lettering across the top is, "The Mary Louise Tea Room Los Angeles, California." Written in black ink on the left of the back is a message from Mary to Marion Plummer in which she thanks her for the homemade apron, and also tells her that, "This is where we celebrated yesterday, had a lovely luncheon." The name and address of Plummer are on the right, but are partially covered by a black postmark with the date. A green postage stamp with the image of George Washington is at the top right. The artifact is in good condition with only light abrasions on the corners.Lexicon
