Description

MAUSOLEUM CEILING FRIEZE REPAIR, DOROTHY NERSESIAN Color: Blue; Gray A color polaroid photograph of Dorothy Nersesian repainting at the frieze of the south end of the mausoleum interior, ca. 1979. Saxe is seen standing on a wooden ladder with a cardboard box at the top of the ladder, presumably containing supplies. A white towel is draped over a lower rung of the ladder, as well. In her left hand she holds a container of white paint and her right hand holds a brush to the frieze, on which she applies paint. It appears that she had already restored the other painted sections of the frieze and ceiling. Below her are some of the crypts, which have flowers in glass vases. On the reverse in ink is the inscription "Temple Mausoleum / interior / decorative artwk. frieze / restoration by Dorothy Nersesian (D. N. Graphics) / photo by archt 4-6-79." With no indication of notable wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
