MAUSOLEUM CEILING REPAIR, DOROTHY NERSESIAN BRUSHING FRIEZE
Color: Blue; Gray
A color polaroid photograph of Dorothy Nersesian brushing the frieze of the north end of the mausoleum interior, 6 April 1979. Nersesian is seen standing on a wooden ladder and with her right hand applies the brush to the frieze area, which appears to be damaged from plaster chipping. To the upper right above Nersesian is part of the ceiling, with a peach-colored area a possible indication of damage there. To the left is part of the north wall and some of the crypts with glass flower vases. At the bottom right is part of the east window with a laced-iron window replacing the original, which was destroyed at some unknown time. The handle of a wicker basket resting on the pedestal is also visible. On the reverse in ink is the inscription "Temple Mausoleum / interior at northeast / corner during artwork / restoration at cornice / Dorothy Nersesian of / DN Graphics, Altadena / photo by archt 4-6-79." Below this is a stamp of restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and phone number. Over this is a piece of tape. With no indication of notable wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
