Description

MAUSOLEUM INTERIOR, DAMAGE TO CORNICE ON SOUTH SIDE Color: Blue; Gray A color polaroid photograph of the south side of the mausoleum interior cornice damage prior to restoration, ca. August 1978. At the top is a portion of the cornice and frieze with some sections of the decorative bands completely missing and others with paint damage. At the upper right is an air vent and there is much indication of plaster damage there and in other sections. At the bottom is some of the marble facing for the wall and crypts, one of which is at right. Above a column is further evidence of damage. On the reverse in ink is the inscription "Temple Mausoleum / detail interior vault / cornice prior to / restoration / photo Jeff Tyler / R-6 #11 ca. 8/78." Below this is a stamp for restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and phone number. This is covered with a piece of tape. With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
