"MEMORIES OF FRANCE/THAT'S JUST MY WAY OF FORGETTING YOU"
Color: Black; White
A 78-rpm recording including "Memories of France," written by Al Dubin and J. Russel Robinson and performed by The Troubadors and "That's Just My Way of Forgetting You," written by De Sylva, Brown, and Henderson and performed by Jean Goldkette and His Orchestra, issued by the Victor label, 21590-A and B (45679 and 46097), 1928. The label has a scroll-patterned border with the letters "VE" at the top, the logo of the company, showing Nipper the dog listening through a victorla's horn, the label name, the identification number, song title in English and Spanish, the songwriters' names, artist, and company name and city of business. The Troubadors song features a vocal chorus, while the Goldkette piece has a vocal refrain by Jean Napier. In fair condition, the item has abrasions and scratches on the record surface and label, as well as light soiling, fading, adhesive residue, and, on the A-side, the scratched number "28," referring probably to the year of issue.Lexicon
