Description

Miller Company Handy-Andy Rubber Repair Kit, made in Los Angeles and Akron, OH under patents from 1912 to 1925. An empty cardboard tube with metal base and removable lid. A portion of the lid is perforated to create a rough surface, used in the repair of rubber. According to the instructions, the kit once included a tube of cement and patches of rubber for larger repairs to tires and other items made of rubber. The directions are printed on the back of the tube with white on blue ground and a red base at the top and bottom. The container was manufactured by R. C. Can Company in St. Louis, MO. The item is generally in good condition with rusted cap and base, surface soiling and abrasion from use.
