Description
Dancer Lupe Vigare and two women actors as Indians, Mission Play, San Gabriel, ca. early 1920s. Vigare, whose sister Juanita Zorraquinos and brother-in-law Juan Zorraquinos were the principal dancers and choreographers for the work, is in her costume and stands sideways with her hands at her hips, while the two women playing natives flank her. The trio stand in a dirt area near the playhouse. With the top left corner missing, a major crease at the lower left, a tear at the left, tape residue, stains and soiling, the condition is fair.
