Color: Color
A color glass slide of Mission San Juan Capistrano, formerly owned by the New York State Education Department, ca. 1930s. The image shows the mission's arcade at the right and the bell wall at the left. On top of the building, also at the right, is a cross. The run-down walls and red tile roof of the structure are clearly visible. In the foreground are a cactus and a tree. On the left of the slide is a white label with the name of the New York State Education Department, Visual Instruction Division, with the negative reference number "B13657" written in ink. A label on the right side has the caption "California. Mission of San Juan Capistrano, Spineless Cactus in Foreground." The name of the education department is also on the back in gold. The artifact is in good condition with only small tears to the labels and a dealer adhesive on the back.
