Description

Color: Black; White RPPC - A black and white postcard of the Mission Santa Barbara facade, ca. 1920s. The structure has flanking bell towers which are topped by domes. Between the towers is a pediment with a cross. Across the front of the facade are columns. At the bottom is an arched door which faces to the right. Iron light fixtures flank the door. A flight of many stairs leads to the building's door. At the left is a palm tree at the front of the mission's one-story wing. On the top of the back is the words "POST CARD." At the top right corner is a square box for postage. The image was housed in Agnes Temple's photo album which is item 96.7.94.1 along with many other photographs which span 96.7.1.1-.93.1. Contact sheets 2000.159.1.1-.8 show the original positioning of the images within the album. With only minor abrasions at the corners and an ink stain on the back, the artifact is in good condition.
