Description

MISSION WALKWAY AND LA CASA NUEVA FROM THE SOUTH Color: Black; White A black and white reproduction photograph of the Mission Walkway and La Casa Nueva from the south, ca. 1928. The south wall of the walkway is across the center. The walkway has tile across the top as well as many arches and the beams for the arbor, at the top of the walkway, are visible through these. The south side of La Casa Nueva is also visible through the arches and at the top of the walkway's wall. Clearly visible are the home's tile roof, west chimney, windows to Walter Sr.'s and Housekeeper's bedrooms, and open patios above these rooms. The patios had yet to be completed as the beams which were across the top are missing. At the center of the background is the top of the palm tree which is near the home's front door. Across the foreground are pine trees of various sizes, grass, and dirt. Written in blue pencil on the top left corner of the back is, "RALPH & CAROL TEMPLE COLLECTION / LCN SOUTH VIEW." Negatives to the images in the accession are .2.1-.10. The artifact is in good condition with no signs of wear or damage. Number-Units: 2
