Description

Color: Black; White A black and white reproduction photograph of the Mission Walkway construction from the east, ca. 1920s. The east wall of the walkway is from left to right. The adobe bricks are exposed as the wall had yet to be plastered. A man crouches on the top of the wall at the left. Part of La Casa Nueva, which was also under construction, is behind the wall at the right. A portion of Walter P., Sr.'s Bedroom window is visible through one of the walkway's arches. Also visible through the arches at the left of the home are many stacks of adobe bricks in a dirt area. In the distance behind this are several trees and an open field. Some trees, scattered buildings, utility poles, and hills are visible through a light haze in the field. Across the foreground, at the front of the walkway is a row of trees, including pines. At the bottom right corner of the foreground is part of the unpaved center driveway and a tree. Written in blue pencil on the top left corner of the back is, "RALPH & CAROL TEMPLE COLLECTION / MISSION WALKWAY - EAST SIDE." Negatives to the images in the accession are .2.1-.10. The artifact is in good condition with no signs of wear or damage. Number-Units: 2
