Description

MISSION WALKWAY, EAST SIDE, FROM THE SOUTH, CA. 1924 Color: Black; White A negative of the Mission Walkway, east side, from the south, ca. 1924. The walkway's wall appears mostly completed, but not stuccoed and there are adobe columns only partially started with other bricks stacked in groups along the wall. At the left is some of the east elevation of La Casa Nueva which has unfinished walls, window and door openings with casements but not the doors or screens, and the roof has plywood sheathing but is not tiled. Construction debris lies next to and around the house, as well. The area that is now the garden between the house and walkway is basically a dirt area. At the far right is part of the west elevation of the Workman House with trees planted adjacent to it. In the background are fields, trees, and a few buildings toward Puente. With darkening, appearing to be non-intrusive, on the top and bottom edges, but no evidence of wear or damage otherwise, the overall condition is good. Number-Units: 1
