Description

MISSION WALKWAY, EAST SIDE, FROM THE WORKMAN HOUSE, CA. 1924 Color: Black; White A negative of the Mission Walkway, east side, from the Workman House, ca. 1924. The walkway's wall appears mostly completed, but not stuccoed and there are adobe columns only partially started with other bricks stacked in groups along the wall. At the right is some of the east elevation of La Casa Nueva which has unfinished walls, but only the top area at the second floor patio visible. At the left there appears to be a worker on the south side of the walkway. In the foreground is the Center Driveway and, behind it, the planter bed, between the drive and the Mission Walkway, with some evergreen trees and palm trees planted in it. At the lower left in the extreme foreground is part of a chimney, suggesting that the photograph was taken from the roof of the Workman House or a building in its courtyard. In the background are fields, trees, and a few buildings toward the Puente Hills and Hacienda Heights area. With darkening, appearing to be non-intrusive, on the top and bottom edges, but no evidence of wear or damage otherwise, the overall condition is good. Number-Units: 1
