Description
MISSION WALKWAY, EAST SIDE, LOOKING NORTH, CA. 1941-42
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph of the east side of the Mission Walkway, looking toward the north, ca. 1941 or 1942. The photographer stood at the center of the walkway and the main arched wall is on the right, with a bench in the foreground, and the support columns are on the left. Above is the wood support for the grape vines growing on them. Around the columns and along the arched wall are a variety of bushes and shrubs with some plantings seen at the left between the walkway and La Casa Nueva, which is not visible. Some of the tiles and medallions in the floor are faintly visible. On the reverse lower left is a penciled inscription reading "117% / 2A / Terri [?]". In the center is the number "25" written in pencil. At left in black ink is the inscription "+20-145 / 20-165." With little discernible signs of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition.
