Description

MISSION WALKWAY, SOUTH SIDE, LOOKING WEST, CA. 1941-42 Color: Black; White A black and white negative of the south side of the Mission Walkway, looking west, ca. 1941 or 1942. Taken from the center of the walkway, the main wall is at the left; support columns on the right; and wooden support or trellis at the upper center with grape vines growing on it. Between the main wall and floor and around the columns are varieties of shrubs and bushes, quite tall ones on the left and smaller ones near the columns, including either agapanthus or other lilies. Some of the decorative elements, including one of the Spanish shield tiles, can be made out on the floor, while a small portion of a lawn is seen through the columns at the far right. The artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
