MISSION WALKWAY, WEST SIDE CONSTRUCTION, CA. 1924
Color: Black; White
A negative of the west side of the Mission Walkway under construction, ca. 1924, taken from the southwest near the end of La Casa Nueva's west wing. About two-thirds of the west side of the walkway is in view and the wall, columns, trellis, and tiled wall edge are in place, but no grapevines yet planted. At the left is a stack of round adobe bricks used for the columns. In what became the West Lawn, there is bare dirt and a large amount of construction materials, notably wood, and, in the foreground at right, debris, including wood and plant material. At the far right, in the distance, is a small section of the outlying area beyond the Homestead. With a small section missing from the center of the left edge but little wear or damage besides, the artifact's condition is good.
