Description
MISSION WALKWAY, WEST SIDE, LOOKING NORTH, CA. 1941-42
Color: Black; White
A black and white photograph with one copy of the west side of the Mission Walkway, looking north, ca. 1941 or 1942. Taken from the center of the walkway, the main wall is at the left; support columns on the right; and wooden support or trellis at the upper center with grape vines growing on it. Between the main wall and floor and around the columns are varieties of shrubs and bushes, including ferns and either agapanthus or other forms of lilies. In the background is one of the benches built into the main wall. On the upper left is a pencil inscription by a former museum curator reading "source - Bob Brown?" There are several large creases at the top and some acid stains, perhaps from adhesive on the back lower center, so the object is in fair condition.
